Who we are

Xyonix is a mission based machine learning and AI consultancy located in Seattle, WA. Our motto is AI for good, solutions made simple. We are a seasoned group of well published and patented machine learning experts who have been designing and building state of the art machine learning systems at scale for the past couple decades. Xyonix offers an array of AI related consultation services covering the full lifecycle of an AI project including: project discovery, advisory services, annotation gathering, data set analysis, model development and model management. Model management includes model operationalization and production level service management. Xyonix builds AI models for multiple data types including but not limited to: video, images, text, audio, time series data, and both structured and semi-structured business data. In short, ​we teach machines how to read our customer's content, see what is in their imagery, watch what is in their videos and understand what is in their data. With this enhanced ability, their custom built AI and machine learning models can give our customers insights and make high value predictions for them.

Xyonix engagements often include customized model development on top of our Mayetrix platform, which enables rapid, active learning driven annotation gathering, model application across a back catalog of media, and runtime inference all via secure programmatic interfaces. Our platform is open sourced back to our clients in the form of an Apache 2.0 license; this helps us rapidly jump start our client’s AI development and guide them through to full autonomy.

Available Positions:

Data Annotator (Contractor)

Description

We are looking for data annotators to work closely with our data scientists and help us train our AI models. Successful candidates will be strong analytically, great communicators, and capable of working independently on cognitively challenging tasks. The job requires close inspection of text, image and other output and the ability to make fine grained distinctions. You will be working on a wide array of projects including multiple in health care which, if successful, might help save lives.

Skills & Experience

  • Great communication skills including the ability to communicate with data scientists and other annotators.

  • Strong attention to detail to help make fine grained distinctions while labeling text, image, and other items for machine learning.

  • Ability to digest detailed instructions in video and written form and ask clarifying questions where uncertain.

  • BS completed or underway in a STEM field.

  • This position has a remote option with regular opportunities for social get togethers for local candidates.

  • There are no set hours for this position, so the position is ideal for students and others with unpredictable schedules though a minimum of 15 hours per week is required.

Data Scientist

Skills & experience

* Algorithmically agile including experience with a variety of classical and deep learning based machine learning capabilities. Should be familiar with packages like scikit-learn, keras, spacy, open cv, tensorflow, pytorch.

* Strong programming skills including at least 1 dynamic (preferably Python) and 1 compiled language (e.g. Java, Scala, C++).

* BS or advanced degree (MS or PhD preferred) in computer science, engineering, or related technical field.

* Great communication skills including the ability to communicate directly with customers communicating challenging machine learning concepts. Ability to create great data visualizations is necessary.

Nice to haves

* Experience working in a distributed computing environment.

* Published academic work in core machine learning (ML) and/or open-source NLP software contributions.

* Experience developing, testing, and shipping production software.

* Knowledge of cloud services in AWS, for example EC2, S3, etc.

* Familiarity with distributed source control management system such as GIT.

* Experience accelerating startups and working on green space problems.

Marketing Associate (Contractor)

We are looking for a marketing associate to help us improve outreach and increase clients and potential leads.

Successful candidates will be excited to gain valuable experience doing a full and diverse range of marketing tasks.

The position is 24-40 hours/week and offers room for some remote work if necessary. $22 per hour.
