Physical Therapists often assess and track a patients progress through various body poses over time. For example, for a patient recovering from an ACL reconstruction, assessing and improving their gait over time is essential in getting them to return to competitive activities. This is typically done by watching the patient as they walk and recording observations. Great strides have been made with AI based body pose estimation using just video. Much of this work can be automated so posture, gait and other body pose defects can be automatically detected and quantified. Progress relative to peers could be quantified with automated remedial actions recommended.
